“connecting people, place and community”
Moscow High School Performing Arts is proud to partner with PCEI this year when we bring “Urinetown, the Musical” by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis to the Moscow High School stage.
The inspiration for the play, and for Drama Director Cathy Brinkerhoff to choose it, comes from the theme of water conservation and sustainability programs. “Urinetown” is an absurd story of a dystopian future where the reservoirs have all dried up and there has been a 20 year drought. With the water shortage in California and other locations, this musical has a timely message and Ms. Brinkerhoff chose to produce it after the PCEI Education Outreach team spoke during Mark Shipely’s Earth Science class last fall.
Tonight, May 15, is opening night will be a special performance with a One Hour Meet and Greet prior to the show. Representatives from PCEI will be on hand to educate about and discuss our aquifers and $1.00 of every ticket sold will go directly to PCEI as a donation from MHS Performing Arts. Tickets will be $11.00 for general seating and $9.00 for students and senior citizens and will be sold at the door. Doors open at 6:30 for the Meet and Greet, curtains go up at 7:30 for the production. We hope to see supporters of PCEI and arts in education at the Moscow High School production of “Urinetown, the Musical”.
