Alycia Bean, Board Member
Dr. Alycia Bean has been connected to PCEI for over two decades, starting as an AmeriCorps member focused on environmental education through SERVE Idaho. She was present during some of the organization’s most formative transitions, including the move from downtown Moscow to the Nature Center. Her hands-on involvement includes participating in kickstart projects like the Village Bicycle Project and the Plate Project, as well as helping with the construction of the geo web parking lot, the straw bale-stucco bike pavilion, and the timber-framed cobb wall artists’ studio.
Today, Alycia brings her background in climate science, community engagement, and agroecosystem research to her role on the PCEI Board. Her work with the USDA Long-Term Agroecosystem Research Network and other interdisciplinary teams centers on the human dimensions of climate change and the sustainability of food systems. She is proud to help steward PCEI’s mission and legacy, with deep respect for its roots and strong hopes for its future.
