Anika Baker, Palouse Roots Educator
Anika grew up in a large farming community in the Salinas Valley of California. After being inspired to change large-scale conventional farming and invest in environmental education, Anika moved to Moscow to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Sustainable Food Systems. Anika is now completing a Master’s program at the University of Idaho to study Climate Change and Sustainable Development. She values quality environmental education and outdoor leadership. Anika has spent most of her life riding and training horses in Eventing and Show Jumping, which she still does in her spare time. Additionally, she spent much of her time working for the University’s outdoor program, leading backpacking and rafting trips. Anika loves experiencing nature with children and community members while she connects with the surrounding ecosystems.
